General Home Medical Equipment Questions
What types of home medical equipment does Prosperity Health offer?
Prosperity Health provides equipment for a range of home-care, mobility, respiratory, and accessibility needs, including:
Hospital beds and applicable mattresses, rails, and accessories
Lift chairs
Oxygen and CPAP/BiPAP equipment and related supplies
Power wheelchairs and mobility scooters
Wheelchair ramps
Stair lifts
Rental and purchase availability varies by equipment.
What if I don't know exactly what equipment I need?
That's okay. You don't need to know the exact product or model before contacting us.
Tell us what's going on, who the equipment is for, what you're trying to accomplish, and what has been recommended by the person's healthcare team. We can help explain the available equipment and practical differences between your options.
Medical recommendations, prescriptions, positioning requirements, therapy settings, and other clinical decisions should come from the appropriate healthcare professional.
Who does Prosperity Health typically help?
We work with individuals, families, and caregivers arranging equipment for many different situations, including recovery at home, changing mobility needs, aging in place, accessibility needs, respiratory and sleep therapy, and longer-term home care.
Sometimes the person using the equipment calls us directly. Other times, an adult child, spouse, caregiver, or another person helping coordinate care reaches out.
Renting & Buying Medical Equipment
Can I rent home medical equipment?
Yes. Rental options are available for certain types of equipment.
Renting can be particularly useful during recovery, after a hospital or rehabilitation stay, when mobility needs have temporarily changed, or when you aren't sure how long equipment will be needed.
Rental availability varies, so contact us to confirm what's currently available.
Can I purchase medical equipment?
Yes. Prosperity Health also offers home medical equipment for purchase.
Buying may make more sense when equipment will be used long term, you're planning for aging in place, or you prefer to own a particular piece of equipment.
Should I rent or buy?
It depends on the equipment, expected length of use, cost, and your preferences.
Renting may provide more flexibility for temporary or uncertain needs.
Buying may make more sense when the equipment is expected to become a longer-term part of everyday life.
If you're unsure, we can explain the available rental and purchase options for the equipment you're considering.
What happens if I need rented equipment longer than expected?
Contact Prosperity Health before the rental period ends. We can discuss extending the rental based on the equipment and availability.
What happens when I'm finished with rented equipment?
Contact us when you no longer need the equipment and we'll coordinate applicable pickup.

Pricing & Payment
How much does home medical equipment cost?

No. Prosperity Health does not currently bill Medicaid or Medicare Advantage plans.
Delivery, Setup & Installation
Does Prosperity Health deliver medical equipment to my home?
Yes. Prosperity Health provides local delivery for applicable home medical equipment throughout our service area.
The exact delivery process depends on what you're receiving.
Will someone set up the equipment?
For applicable equipment, yes.
A hospital bed may require placement, assembly, testing, and demonstration. A power mobility device may require setup and basic operational guidance. Ramps and stair lifts can involve a more extensive installation process.
Will someone show us how the equipment works?
For applicable equipment, our team can demonstrate basic controls and operation during setup.
Always keep and follow the manufacturer's complete instructions. Questions involving medical use, therapy settings, transfers, positioning, or other clinical matters should be directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
How quickly can equipment be delivered?
Timing depends on the equipment, availability, location, and the setup or installation involved.
If you're working around a hospital or rehabilitation discharge or another particular timeline, tell us when you contact Prosperity Health so we can discuss current availability and next steps.
What should I do before delivery?
Clear the intended equipment location and create an accessible path from the entrance to that area.
Depending on the equipment, we may also need room dimensions, doorway measurements, information about stairs or entryways, photos, or access to an appropriate electrical outlet.
Choosing Equipment for Your Home
How do I know if medical equipment will fit?
Consider both where the equipment will ultimately be used and how it will get there.
For larger equipment, that may mean checking:
Room dimensions
Doorways
Hallways
Corners
Stairs
Entryways
Available floor space
Caregiver access
Ramps and stair lifts require additional consideration of the home's physical layout.
Can Prosperity Health tell me which equipment is medically appropriate?
We can explain equipment types, features, practical differences, rental and purchase options, and home considerations.
We don't replace your doctor, therapist, respiratory professional, or other healthcare provider.
Medical suitability, prescriptions, therapy settings, positioning requirements, transfer recommendations, and other clinical decisions should be discussed with the appropriate healthcare professional.
Do I need a prescription?
That depends on the equipment and its intended use.
Some equipment and therapies have prescription or medical documentation requirements. If you've been given a prescription or specific equipment requirements by your healthcare provider, have that information available when you contact us.
Questions About Specific Equipment
What types of hospital beds are available?
Home hospital bed options may include semi-electric, full-electric, hi-low, bariatric, and premium homecare beds, depending on availability.
Mattresses, rails, overbed tables, and other accessories may also be available.
What's the difference between a power wheelchair and a mobility scooter?
Both provide powered mobility, but they're designed differently and may suit different users and environments.
Consider how the device will be used, maneuverability, seating, controls, portability, storage, charging, and the person's mobility needs.
Do you provide oxygen and CPAP equipment?
Yes. Prosperity Health provides home oxygen and sleep-therapy equipment, including applicable oxygen concentrators, CPAP and BiPAP equipment, masks, tubing, humidifier components, and related supplies.
Prescribed oxygen flow rates, CPAP/BiPAP settings, and other therapy decisions should follow the direction of the appropriate healthcare professional.
Do you offer wheelchair ramps?
